Here’s the latest from Mark Harris about The Haiku Foundation Video Archive . . .

Hi all,

We’re well on our way to reaching our goal! Over the halfway mark now. Thanks so much for your help. Special thanks to Ion Codrescu, Ellen Peckham and Lidia Rozmus. They donated their art to help raise funds for the Video Archive. Do any of you create your own original art? Is it ever hard for you to part with it? If so, you can imagine how generous these people are, and how much they believe in this project. We hesitated before we offered the art at these low prices. Thanks to Lidia, Ellen and Ion, you could help out a worthy cause and get a great price on a beautiful and unusual work of art at the same time.

I think it’s possible people haven’t yet focused on the pix  of the art on display in the Indie-GoGo  gallery because it’s clumsy to use. Please don’t let that deter you!

Click on the smaller “thumbnail” images to enlarge them. Let the cursor hover over the individual pix, and a description will appear.

Best wishes,

Hi Mark, What great news! And Billie, I love my FlipNotes too. Such an elegant design. Really beautiful and practical. Ellen

as of today, thanks to the help of many friends, The Haiku Foundation Video Archive is one of the campaigns featured on the banner on IndieGoGo’s homepage.

It’s really neat to see the response to this and I believe the reality of the project when it is unveiled will be an even greater treasure than we envision.

Besides the awesome haiga (thank you, artists!) I also wanted to mention that the gallery at the project site can’t possibly let folks know how truly cool the Flipnotes perk is. It’s “haiku-sized” — incredibly portable. And quite handsome (the gallery does show that). There just should be something that yells “cool!”. Maybe we could key in that song “I’m Too Sexy”.

Smiles, Billie

Ellen, thanks. Crowd funding allows ordinary people like us to reach people like you who can pass the word on, and so on. It’s exciting. Even more exciting is what we plan to do with the funds: digitally record extensive in-depth interviews with haiku poets, and provide them for free to the public. Thanks again for passing the word on…

Hi Mark,

Wonderful progress and such generous artists involved with the project! Following the good example of fellow bloggers, I added a note of support for the fundraising campaign to my post today on “Poems From Oostburg, WI,” with the link to THF. I read in the WordPress haiku tag often. Also placed this post in their tags for Education, National Poetry Month, Poetry, etc.

All the best, Ellen
