Some examples of haiga done well

Thank you for the feedback. Here is a Garry Gay haiku that was turned into a haiga from a blog I haven’t seen before called See Haiku Here.

Here is one from the link of favorites provided by Scott Metz at R’r. It’s a blog I am now following!

Merrill Ann Gonzales is posting her “snowbird notes” on her blog — her haiga with many poets. For new readers, her drawings are exceptional.

Glancing over the first one, it is clearly a “senryu with art” and not a haiga (haiku and art). It’s an enjoyable piece at any rate. The second one is really interesting with sharp horizontal storyline mixed with a powerful vertical axis of depth and mystery.

Cheers!

Don
