The Haiku Foundation, as part of its mission to expand possibilities for English-language haiku, created the Touchstone Awards Series in 2010. The goal: to reward excellence and innovation in the haiku genre. The Awards recognize work published during every calendar year. The results are determined through a year-long nomination and selection process, and are released in April of the following year. Award-recipients are selected by independent panels comprised of authorities in the field.
Winners of the 2016 awards will be announced on International Haiku Poetry Day, April 17, 2017. Full commentaries on award-winners will be posted by May 1.
Nominations for the 2017 Touchstone Awards are OPEN. The 2017 winners will be announced April 17, 2018, International Haiku Poetry Day, on the Foundation’s website, and at venues around the country celebrating the event. For current and past award-recipients, please click the archive link.
