2014 THF Fundraiser Release: HaikuLife

headergoodwborderwordpress

Today we announce a new THF initiative: the HaikuLife video format. This format is designed to showcase your haiku, as well as your work in and around haiku, and to take advantage of the many and simple means we currently have to film our activities. This introductory video will tell you what we’re looking for:

We hope HaikuLife inspires you to create a presentation of your own work, or the work of your group, or for any planned events you will be hosting in your area. We will gather these HaikuLife presentations, along with other video offerings, and present them as part of our new conception of our annual haiku holiday: the former National Haiku Poetry Day has become International Haiku Poetry Day. On April 17 we will feature these videos as part of a live presentation, and will host a round-the-world collaborative poem we call Earthrise. More details can be found on the HaikuLife page.

Please consider making a donation to The Haiku Foundation during our Fundraising Drive, November 27 – December 6. During this time only, every dollar you contribute is matched by an anonymous patron. Your money goes twice as far, and helps the Foundation continue its important work. Thank you.

The Haiku Foundation

Our mission is to archive our first century of English-language haiku; to expand possibilities for our second; and to seek active exchange with other haiku languages and cultures around the world.
