Survey 2017 — THF World of Haiku

Every September the Board of Directors and Associates of The Haiku Foundation are sent a survey. Their responses help to guide our growth and direction. We’d like to broaden our input, and so we’ll be asking you to respond to a series of questions, one per week, over the next half-year. Your replies will be weighed in our assessment of our performance.

Today’s question: The Haiku Foundation’s World of Haiku

The Haiku Foundation’s World of Haiku invites poets from around the world to tell the story of how haiku has come to their country and language, as well as highlighting those poets who led the way and are currently making a difference, both in English and each native language. This sharing of backgrounds and poetry provides an appreciation of how haiku has affected all of us, and inspires greater collaboration and understanding among us all. A new haiku nation/culture is featured each month in Per Diem: Daily Haiku, and on the website. This is the most comprehensive and ambitious initiative ever attempted in world haiku, and it is our hope that coming to know the details of the differences of the histories of the genre we all hold in common will serve to bring our community closer together. World of Haiku is managed by THF president and Board member Jim Kacian.
