Stephen Addiss is widely known in haiku circles for his scholarly publications and for his own practice of the art of haiku. His bare bones chapbook of minimalist haiku, simply named Haiku, is our Book of the Week. Hand-printed and bound on what looks like handmade craft paper, it is representative of a do-it-yourself tradition created by haiku poets who prefer such personalized, expressive packaging to the standardized productions of professional publishers.

the scent of clover
on one slipper
