The Haiku Foundation welcomes you to Haikupedia! Each week for the next several months we will release a few new articles in our ever-expanding encyclopedia of haiku. These we hope will give you a sense of the potential scale of this enterprise, as well as entice you to become a part of the project.
This week, we take a look at the history and development of International Haiku Poetry Day, along with the HaikuNow! International Haiku Contest and The Haiku Foundation’s HaikuLife Haiku Film Festival. To round out the group, we include THF’s annual Earthrise Rolling Haiku Collaboration, the world’s largest collaborative poem. In addition, several haiku poets are featured this week: Marta Chocilowska (Poland), Marion S Clarke (Northern Ireland), Terry L. French (U.S.A), Julie Bloss Kelsey (U.S.A.), Katherine Munro (Canada), Bjarne Kim Pedersen (Denmark) , and Gabriel Rosenstock (Ireland).
We welcome your participation! If you would like to be a part of this important project, please contact the editors using our Contact Box. We have a need for all levels of expertise and will look forward to finding the right niche for you!
