The Haiku Foundation celebrates haiku in its many languages, cultures and countries. Over the following months and years you will find at this location histories of haiku in these various nations, in both native languages and English, as well as representative samplings of such haiku. Taken cumulatively, this constitutes a history of the genre since its diaspora from its origins in Japan. But this is not a static concept — we welcome your suggestions for additions and adjustments to any and all of these national reports. Please send your ideas via the Contact Form.
